If this sounds familar, I posted the guitar and vocal a few months back. This is the studio demo done at Jay's Place (Jay Vern) in Nashville and Marc- Alan Barnette on vocals.
ONE HOT WINTER
Marc-Alan Barnette/Matt Casey/Allen Shervelle
1-14-11
It was late December, at a ski lodge in Up State
I was working the chair lifts on from college on Christmas break
She was with her friends from school, dressed in a yellow ski suit
Wrapped up from head to toe, but I could tell that she was cute
You could see she’d never been on the slopes before
So I did my best rescue the damsel approach
Had to take her back the lodge, get her something nice and hot
That was the start of a record breaking onslaught
Spent every minute of those next two weeks
All over those mountains just her and me
Chorus
THAT WAS ONE HOT WINTER, NEVER WILL FORGET HER
LOSING ALL CONTROL, MELTING ALL THE SNOW
FOGGING UP THE WINDOWS
THOSE MEMORIES, OF ACTIVITIES
MADE BEING SNOWED IN A PLEASURE
I’LL ALWAYS REMEMBER
THAT WAS ONE HOT WINTER
We had to sneak around to keep from being caught
Cause employees dating guests were frowned upon
But there were nights on that bearskin rug, by the fire in her apartment
The temperature outside never bothered us
But like every thing all good things must end
Now every time it snows, my mind goes there again
Chorus
Bridge
When I start seeing Christmas lights, I start thinking about those times
Maybe one day I’ll go back and see if I have a present underneath those trees
