Patricia and I had this song more than halfway finished when she took ill Christmas Day. January was gone by the time she returned home from the hospital, and it is just in the past few weeks that she is able to walk, eat and function somewhat normally.
This song is a reflection of our love and commitment to each other through the tough, as well as the good times. Actually meant as a boy/girl duet, but Patricia is not a singer, and tells me I don't suffice doing the girl part.
Because You're Still Here
© 2011 Lyrics by Patricia Adams, Music by Mick Adams
VERSE 1
Beyond today's horizon, I'm standing there with you
If you can feel it too, Give me a sign, give me a clue
Wind-born like a seed, Heaven stills the air
Everywhere I turn, I see you standing there, standing there
CHORUS 1
You're not my fantasy, Ah but you are, you are
What can't be put into words, Is felt through your touch, felt through your touch
Don't talk about forever, For that's a bit unsure
You're not unreachable, Because you're still here, because you're still here
VERSE 2
I just woke up by your side, To find I'm in love with you
Suddenly you start moving, And your smile becomes mine too
You're my needed answer, And my truthful response
My final say at end of day, When the world slips away, the world slips away
CHORUS 2
You're not my fantasy, Ah but you are, you are
What can't be put into words, Is felt through your touch, felt through your touch
Don't talk about forever, For that's a bit unsure
You're not unreachable, Because you're still here, because you're still here
