I Found My Way (c) 2007 DCWatts - WattsAmerica, LLC

I remember my teens
And all I did right
But my elders have stories to tell
There were times I got caught
And time that I didn't
So the truth is I put them through hell
At a time in my life
Near thirty years later
I can finally say that I see
We were all trying hard
To fit into something
And be who we wanted to be
Got busted for stealing
And many times smoking
And trouble at school I knew well
Just barely got through it
But they always knew it
I'd come out on top just as well
The terrible two's throught the treacherous teens
Most of us ran the same road
Though a few got a faith from the ones that do care
And some found a lonlier road
I was one of the lucky ones
I had a family
No matter what came of my ways
My father and mother
My sisters and brothers
Were there for me every-day
And I found my way
Made them proud - my - way
In raising my daughters
I've never forgotten
What it feels like to be - their age
And it kept me in line
And seeing their sides
My kids won't be raised in a cage
My dad always told me
Son I forgive you
For another dumb thing that I did
But he always reminded me
Learn from your living
And he always meant what he said
I remember my teens
And all I did right
But my elders have stories to tell
There were times I got caught
And times that I didn't
But the truth is I put them through hell
But I came out on top just as well
