Robert Jenkins songs
I've been off The Ramp for awhile and decided it was high time to get back to it.
This is a new song called, The Dream. I got the chord progression and just let the "muse" take me wherever the lyric wanted to go.
The Dream
One night I had a dream and I was high-up on a mountain
With the world stretched out below me just as clear as it could be
And I heard a gentle voice just like the whisper of the wind
Saying, ?look around and tell me what you see?
And I saw a billion faces, a sea of desperate lives
Human history poured out like grains of sand
There was laughing, there was crying
There was living, there was dying
And I prayed the Voice might help me understand
Then I was caught-up in the Spirit and He carried me away
And set me down inside a dry, desolate land
On the road I saw a beggar, a blind man and a leper
They walked up to me and took me by the hand
And the beggar started laughing and the leper started dancing
Like some crazy vagabonds who?d been set free
I tore myself away... but for one final, fleeting moment
I looked back to see them calling out to me
Then suddenly a I saw a window opened up in Heaven
And I was standing with a vast and countless throng
And a heard a billion voices, tongues of men and tongues of angels
Singing praise to Him who sat upon the throne
And there were prostitutes and sinners, former beggars, former lepers
Sharing in a joy that they had never known
There was singing, there was dancing, there was love and understanding
There was a feeling in my heart....like coming home
