I haven't uploaded a anything in months so I figured I'd find something to put up now that I have a few minutes. Here's a song I worked on a while back when I was listening to a lot of Townes Van Zandt.  Someone said it sounded like Johnny Cash but I don't think so.  It's probably half way between folk and country, but I've never posted country so I figured I'd try. I hope it touches someone.

What's it about?  Well it's a story that doesn't exactly have a clear resolution and some of the plot requires some intuition.  It's also one of the few songs that takes both sides of the capital punishment issue.  So is it Earl or Billy...or both?
