One time friends and maybe lovers
Turned away by iron walls

The fear that lives within us all

Staying locked behind the curtain
While the world is closing in
Captive in a lifelong prison
Misery crawling on your skin

   Reaching out with arms too weary
   From holding on with all their might

When all the years of self deceiving
