This is a song I actually wrote a few years ago but wasn't comfortable putting it "out there" till some time had passed. It is about something that happened to a friend of mine-she and her husband were brutally attacked in their home, with an ax, as they were sleeping. He died from the attack but she survived with a significant amount of medical and emotional support as you can imagine. She was the only witness to the crime. I drove by their house/crime scene a few days after it happened and that is when I started writing this song. At the time I wrote it no one had been charged with the crime but the primary suspect was one of their children. That child was later convicted of the crime and is currently in prison. Throughout the investigation and trial family pictures were constantly in the papers and on the news. This song is really a testament to my friend's strength and determination to survive and
get her life as back together as is possible under the circumstances.
