I wrote this yesterday for my buddy Dave Bennett who has progressed from ICU to Hospice at the Dayton VA Med Center. Today I got him out in the sun (78 degrees) and out of the hospital for the first time in 2 weeks. Sometimes all you can do is be there.

I've known Dave for 44 years; these cars go back 36 to 40 years. I called Jay Spieght, acousticvocal.com, today and had him put this together with a chord progression from something else I have been working (it is the melody I wrote for Who's Gonna Pull) on so in just a few hours we had a song for David. This sounds so good compared to the lousy scratch vocal I sent him. My friend is doing as well as you can for a guy with stage 4 cancer. I spent yesterday selling his 66 Corvette coupe (see the blue vette above) for him, something I knew would never happen. The gray one is similar to the one I had.
