Back story: I have seen this situation many times where someone takes the time to thank a soldier, several of those times it has been someone thanking my son, soon beginning his 3rd year. So really this lyric just flowed out of me. Greg was up here last week and we worked on melody, I had Jay Speight sing. If you can't do it in person or write a soldier a letter please remember Operation Thank You. Just today I got the name of a soldier in Afghanistan to send a birthday card to. Little things mean a lot when you are 7,000 miles from home, my son was lucky he has a loving family and friends (he is back from a year in Iraq) but not all soldiers do.
