I had a tough time figuring out which category of music this song should be in...I consider it "alt country" but that category didn't show in the dropdown...any suggestions?

This song was written over a twenty year span, like quite a few of mine. I could't complete the lyrics until I met my wife. Sort of symbolic of life, huh?

I first wrote it as a straight-ahead 4/4 fingerpicked song but that just wasn't "moving" me--it needed a more "passionate" rhythm to match the lyrics. Once i figured out the rhythm it kind of fell together.

Honestly, I was thinking of some of Atlanta Rythm Section's mellower stuff while putting it all together.
