I asked Diane (Beeswing) if I could try my luck at writing some music to her lyrics and she graciously agreed. I tried writing to her lyrical poem "Broken", a fine piece of work that stands on its own. I actually wrote three songs, this is the version that stuck. I think its a little more upbeat then Diane intended, but I liked how I got my melody to flow with her words. I also had fun with my Strat, which tended to lighten things up. I made some slight adjustments to the lyrics to help the melody, and renamed it for this "interpretation". For the most part these lyrics are exactly how Diane wrote them in her poem "Broken". You can view her full work on her page. This was good experience for me, I have never written to someone elses lyrics. It was a total reversal of my normal process. This was fun! Jeff
