 2008 Jon Hanson  hook idea from Ramona Baden
The hook idea came from Ramona Baden part of the SPC group. We had different ideas about the character in the song, so we each are writing our own versions. I have a written agreement to split with her if it gets cut. But the "I don't want a Lazy Boy, I want a man that'll work" was overheard by Ramona at the mall. I came up with "If he's strong and true and handsome that couldn't hurt" and the rest of the song. It seem to sing well with a guitar demo I had done so I took it to the next level. I was thinking Miranda Lambert but i think we pulled off Pam Tillis. So thanks go to Ramona at SPC for the hook idea.Â
