Took an exit off the interstate
Id never noticed times before
Lead me down an old dirt road

The windows were all broken
A sign was hanging off the door
Though the writing now was faded
I could still make out enough
And what was written touched my heart

As I climbed back in my pick up
Still thinking of the words Id read
I couldnt stop myself from wondering
What happened to the people whod lived there?
Did they fall on hard times?
Or did they drift apart
May be they lost the love, they both shared at the start

So I took their words, and wrote them down
Changed a little here and there
