Up in the hills of East Tennessee there lies a small town called Wartburg. I met a banjo picker in a local music store who told me of a small place up in the hills of Wartburg were bluegrass pickers met and played. Everyone was welcome to come and sit in. I went to check it out and had some of the most fun I'd ever had in my life ;-) I wrote this tune as I reminessed about the good times there. The original title was Wastburg Jam. James Cain gave it a listen and next thing I knew there were lyrics, foot stomping vocals, and a new title; Wartburg Stomp. I liked it a lot. Great feel to it. I then asked Mike Bender if he would give it a listen and add some of his fine instrumentation to it. He graciously agreed.
