We shipped out from Seattle, our maiden voyage cruise down to California to take on alittle fuel adios to Mexico we had to travel south way on down around the horn we had to go, of course I just can't forget the day that the pier floated away, with you.  (chorus) I got the shipped out blues, the shipped out blues and I'm feelin mighty sad (you know) I'm missin you, yes, I'm missin you ... oh, so bad but I'll make it through yes, I'll make it through we'll be together again I'll come back to you, back to only you I got the shipped out blues

We took a breath in Newport then underway again across the "pond" to a sea called Mediterranean played chicken with the Russians, it was a sight to see but honestly, their faces looked just the same as me an interesting thing that isn't gonna bring me home, to you
