San Antone
© 2014 – Eddie Minyard (BMI)
It had some rust on the fender, the bumper was bent
And the rear view mirror was broke
But I was down on my luck, I needed a truck
And the sign said “we’ll tote the note.”
The man said “come on, boy, it’s just $1200 bucks
Sign here and you can drive this one home.
Said “you can pull it off the lot for what you got in your pocket,
And the rest on a 90 day loan.”
Well I looked him in the eye
And said before I buy it,
I got a couple questions for you...
Will it make it down to San Antone?
Get me back down where I belong?
Will it get me to my baby’s arms tonight?
If it’ll make it, man , I’ll take it
I don’t even care if it’s got any brakes, cause
I ain’t stopping till I get to San Antone tonight
I gave him three twenty’s and a hundred dollar bill
Signed my name on that old dotted line
It was simple and fast, even got a tank of gas
Now I’m back on the highway, makin’ up time
Gotta make it down to San Antone
Get on back down where I belong
Getting back to my baby’s arms tonight
If it’ll make it, man , I’ll take it
I don’t even care if it’s got any brakes, cause
I ain’t stopping till I get to San Antone tonight
If it’ll make it, man , I’ll take it
I don’t even care if it’s got any brakes, cause
I ain’t stopping till I get to San Antone tonight
I ain’t stopping till I get to San Antone tonight
