He was a simple man born to the land
never wore a suit in his life cept when he took his wife
fact all we had ever seen
was him dressed in his wrangler jeans
v
he was true to his word and called reliable
he left each kid with a brand new bible
for when he made his last trip
we'd think of him when we opened it

there was a choir of heavenly angels
all beating their wings in time
My dad said Lord I've done my best
I'm all the way from Tennessee
I hope you dont mind the way I'm dressed
Won't you please have mercy on me
with that he was welcomed in to the family
My Dad, his bible, and his Wrangler Jeans
v He was man of strength with a will of steel
He always had a plan that came from working with his hands
when it came to faith he had no rival
His one fixed point was the word in the bible

When that final day arose
many came in their finest clothes
my dad was dressed just as he’d always been
clean cotton shirt and wrangler jeans
