Ken Damkier songs
When I was seven years old, I was playing around
down the harbor where I lived.
I fell in the water and right down to the bottom
of the sea. Here I spent what seemed like an eternity though it may have
lasted less than a minute. A "person" spoke to me and showed me
my whole life like on a film-strip.
I was told what I'd done good and done bad and that I'd have to go back
and live on.
This "person" I can only refer to as an angel.
His presence can only be described as light.
My best friend managed to pull me up from the water and a man
gave me first aid.
When I woke up I was happy and calm.
I never told my mother and father was happened
because I was not aloud to play down the harbor.
Now, many years later I realize that this was what is called
a near death experience.
And now I wrote a song about it.
I was seven years old
Down the harbor though
Mama told me, not to go
We were playing around
On forbidden ground
When I fell into the sea
I was sinking deep down
And about to drown
When I felt your loving light
you were talking to me
Down that deep blue sea
And you showed me my whole life
Then I knew
You were my angel
Full of peace, love and understanding
Now I’m sixty years old
And I lost my soul
Mean ol' devil’s on my trail
And I saw you today
Not too far away
From the crossroad down the sea
And I promised you to
Do what I could do
To clean up my wasted life
If you'll give me a sign
I’ll make up my mind
And I’ll let my body shine
Course I know
You are my angel
Full of peace, love and understanding
And I know, Even tomorrow,
You're aware of my greed and sorrow
I was seven years old
Down the harbor though
Mama told me, not to go
down the harbor where I lived.
