Jon Hanson songs
Greg Fritsch and I got together in September to write this.
I have always been told to pray to Jesus like you are talking to a friend, this is a fellow talking to Jesus after a long confusing sermon. This is a little happier sounding version with Dale Crockett singing and stretching our old melody a bit. If you heard the earlier version you'll notice a few lyrical changes too.

Dear Jesus last Sunday we had a guest Evangelist
Right away I figured you had sent the very best
So I threw an extra twenty in the offering plate
But he started speaking Greek with no one to translate
LORD DID WE MISS THE EXIT FOR ROMANS ROAD?
HOW ABOUT THREE POINTS THAT I REALLY NEED TO KNOW
I NEED SOMETHING TO TAKE WITH ME IS THAT SO WRONG
DEAR LORD WHY CAN’T SERMONS BE LIKE COUNTRY SONGS
I know YOU can’t save the ones he puts to sleep
But maybe if them sermons had a good country beat
I could tell you what he said and even understand
Like when Alan Jackson sings Small Town Southern Man
Chorus
Bridge
Is it more important to know I live in God’s sight?
Or that I can name every begotten Israelite?
Chorus
