Daddy’s Girl
I can still smell the leather
Of my Daddy’s favorite chair
Where he sat and watched me grow up
I always knew that he was there
I was such a stubborn child
I had to do things my own way
I left home too young
Though he begged me to stay
If I could go back home
Just for one last time
I’d ask him this one question….
Can I be Daddy’s girl again
Like I was way back then
Would you hold me in your arms
Can we try to make amends
All would be right…in my world
If I could just be…Daddy’s girl
A smooth talking brown haired boy
Took my innocence away
He bruised and broke my heart
So I left to find my way
I took the wrong road
Not knowing where it would lead
Surviving any way I could
And along the way I lost me
If I could go back home
Just for one last time
I’d ask him this one question….
Can I be Daddy’s girl again
Like I was way back then
Would you hold me in your arms
Can we try to make amends
All would be right…in my world
If I could just be…Daddy’s girl
If I could turn back time
And do it all over again
I’d stay between the lines
Not cause him so much pain
Can I be Daddy’s girl again
Like I was way back then
Would you hold me in your arms
Can we try to make amends
All would be right…in my world
If I could just be…Daddy’s girl
I want him to be proud of me again
One last time before the end
I will always be…Daddy’s girl. I will always be ...Daddy’s girl….Daddy’s girl
