I rescued her from the Kudzu and that Alabama Sun Where my grand daddy parked her
When her runnin days were done
Shed been frozen in that spot
Since the summer of seventy one
Just collectin rust

She was a shiny Plymouth Fury born back in 55
But her shine's been gone for a long long time Theres so much of who he was 
Still lingers inside
Under all that dust

There ain't no way in hell I'd clean her up
Cause you don't wanna lose the good stuff

Like that Ash Tray full Winstons
And half smoked swisher sweets
An empty Fifth of Makers Mark
Hidden underneath the seat
Pine shavings on the floorboard
From his years at that sawmill
That Aqua Velva bottle
That turned over and spilled
No I never got to meet him
But I think I know him well
From that Old Car Smell

I could feel where his hard hands
Wore that steerin wheel smooth
See that hole in the carpet
Made by the heel of his boot
I can almost hear that radio
Cracklin out a Gospel tune on a Sunday drive
