I wish this world made a little bit more sense
It's been that kinda day
No relief in sittin' on the fence
Perhaps it's only me who feels this way

I wish sometimes the people passing by
Could slow a bit and take look around
Taught from birth to never compromise
Scrambling to be first to higher ground

Stay the course, man the sails
Give an eye to all the rigging lines
Uncharted seas lay dead ahead
Storms are bound to come from time to time

I wish the winds would blow a siren call
That no one would be able to ignore
I guess we got too good at building walls
While less and less we're makin any doors

I wish I had a reasonable chance
To make a mark somewhere along the road
But then again I'm not sure if my plans
Won't end up in another cloud of smoke
