Oh, I was young when I met up with him           
and my judgement wasn't too good.        
What can I say ? - we got carried away              
- then got hitched like I thought we should.
The honeymoon went pretty well 
but all the while in our motel 
was a big screen TV.

After six months along came Beth -          
I said, "Look at our baby girl."               
He put the set on mute - said "Ain't she cute?"
then returned to his fav'rite world.
where he would sit on that couch of his            
flippin' through ev'ry channel there is  
on our big screen TV. 

Well, we barely had enough to live on                    
- he never held a job worth squat.
So to pay the bills with no real skills 
I went to work on a used car lot.
The owner said "Honey, with the looks you have,    
you'll get noticed in my next ad."                          
on ev'ry big screen TV.

Now the three of us are gettin' along - 
our situation has improved.
Since I've been on the air he seems to care
- he's not so distant and removed.
I hope a good life will begin
now that he's finally tuning in.
