Arctic Soul
By Donna Valentine
Despite the harshest winter this land will ever know
The tender, leafy crocus plant pushes through the snow
It presses on although
It's not supposed to grow
When the winter of my soul buries me alive
Beneath the hard-packed, icy cold somehow I'll survive
The dormant spark of life inside
Will once again revive
Chorus
Through the darkness, carry me
Give me faith to know
Once again You'll send the spring
Though all I know is snow
Warm me- reach me
Send the sun to thaw me
Melt my arctic soul
When the winter turns to spring, my weary soul will bring
The remnants of my broken heart for new awakening
The germinating seeds inside
Will one day come alive
Chorus
Bridge
I'm pressing on although
I'm not supposed to grow
I'm pushing through the snow
But I'm not supposed to grow
Chorus
