"How Am I Gonna Llive Without Your Love"
By John Bonner/ Gordon Graham/ Peggy Attwood Mack
Genre: Country (crossover)
Verse One....
I wanna take you by the hand
And I wanna try to help you understand
Why I have to go
It feels like your closing the door
Verse two
I tried to leave my past behind
We had a love I thought I could never find
but now that's all gone
it's time to walk that lonely road
CHORUS
How am I gonna live without your love
You know I didn't do the things you say I'm guilty of
And I know if I walk away I won't see you, again
How am I gonna live without your love
Verse three.
I wanna stay here by your side
lie here beside you each and every night
But when morning comes
You'll call my name...and I'll be gone.
BRIDGE
I tried so hard to convince myself
that you would always be the one
but in your mind you saw me loving someone else
So, I guess I'll keep on searching,
hoping one day I might find
someone to keep the secrets my heart tells......
CHORUS
How am I gonna live without your love
You know I didn't do the things you say I'm guilty of
And I know if I walk away I won't see you, again
I don't want to live without your love.
How am I gonna live without your love.
John wrote this song several years ago. He loved to bring the file back out, again, from time to time, much to my dismay, and try to make it even better. As with the others, this was a rough cut. It's all we have of his wonderful music. Please enjoy. When I listened to this one, I remember John thinking and saying, "this one might be country. He'd then go into singing the lyrics with a Glaswegian, country twang and I would crack up laughing." Scottish cowboys were quite rare.
Thank you for listening and responding to Dr. John's songs. We are posting them as part of a tribute for his friends and family.
