I suppose, for every songwriter, there is a last completed song project. John and I worked on this one from early summer through the fall. He made a final recording the first week of November, 2010....and unexpectdly passed away November 19, 2010. I am forever reminded of the shortness and uncertainty of life.
So Long

Verse one:
Burning inside
Hearing you lie
Hiding the truth
Fearing goodbye
So long, before I run.
Verse two:
Holding my dreams
Here inside me
Asking myself
Why does it seem
So long before I run?
Bridge:
I am waiting for a time my heart,
Can set itself free.
And until that door opens,
I'll be alone in my dreams.
Verse three:
Seeing my fate
Deep in your eyes
What will it take
Before I reply
“So long” and then I run?
Chorus:
Until my heart is free
I will be searching
Wondering now,
“How much longer can it take?”
Until my heart is free,
I will be watching,
For when the door opens,
I can finally be free.
(Finally be free)
So long and then I run….
So long and then I run.
