Everything Nobody Needs
There's an old gray house by the railroad tracks
out on White Mountain Highway
It had junk in the front, junk in the back
Some for sale, some to give away
And a grizzled old man, with a farmer tan
On the porch, drinkin’ beer
He had everything nobody needs
Scattered all across the yard
He had mowers n motors n washin machines
And he would sit up on that porch and guard
Everything, everything, everything nobody needs
The whole town thought he was crazy as a loon
But we still showed up with our cash
We’d all drop by to see what we might find
The old man just sit up there and laugh
He had his final sale last Sunday afternoon
On Monday, the old man passed
A truck from the town came around,
Dust to dust , junk to junk
He had everything nobody needs
Scattered all across the yard
He had mowers n motors n washin machines
And he would sit up on that porch and guard
Everything, everything, everything nobody needs
Raid the dump on Monday,
Clean it up by Sunday
There was nothing the old man he could not fix
Folks would stop by and pay
For stuff they just threw away
That’s how the old man got his kicks!
He had everything nobody needs
Scattered all across the yard
He had mowers n motors n washin machines
And he would sit up on that porch and guard
Everything, everything, everything nobody needs
