It originates in Sweden b...View MoreThis is my newest instrument. it is tuned like a viola and has one dozen sympathetic strings that resonate and amplify it so it sounds a little like your playing in a church. It originates in Sweden beginning in the 13th century. It predates the violin. One could say it's like a pegged fiddle but I haven't seen one of those. This is so lovely to play.I discovered it in the middle of France built by Jean-Claude CONDI. I keep one in both countries, the USA & France.
