I think it’s time I told myself the truth now
I’ve been living in this lie for far too long
Even on my brightest days, it’s like I’m wandering through a haze
Pretending that I never did you wrong
I stare down at this empty glass before me
A perfect metaphor for what my life’s become
Once filled with something sweet, now drained and incomplete
I still can’t believe I wasted our great love
And now I dream of you
Each time I close my eyes
In your tears I see
The pain caused by my lies
If I could turn back time, I swear I would
I'd be the man that you thought I could
But there’s nothing left for me, but dreams of you
Break
So it’s another night of guilt and grass and Guiness
Another night of going home alone
Of staring at the ceiling, reflecting on the feelings
Brought on by all the wicked things I’ve done
And then I’ll dream of you
When I fin’ly close my eyes
In your tears I’ll see
The pain caused by my lies
If I could turn back time, I swear I would
I'd be the man that you thought I could
But there’s nothing left for me, but dreams of you
I want to hold you once more darling
to once more touch your face
I’m down on bended knees, Darlin’ can’t you see
I want you back here to replace…
These dreams I have of you
Each time I close my eyes
I’d wipe away those tears
caused by all my lies
If I could turn back time, I swear I would
I'd be the man that you thought I could
But there’s nothing left for me, but dreams of you
No there’s nothing left for me, but dreams of you
